Distribution and Sale
The General Woods & Veneers Group produces and distributes
their woods throughout the world, providing the largest and finest
selection of veneer products, including rare and exotic species.
With key manufacturing and sales offices in every major, international
region, our customers are assured of the finest quality veneers,
the greatest access to variety and the assurance of prompt response
and timely delivery. Through a comprehensive, international communications
and delivery network, customers receive prompt response, attention,
and advice, assuring that their product specifications and timeline
requirements are met precisely.
Sale of Logs
Since the purchase of logs for the veneer business is highly specialised,
the group also resells logs to other foreign veneer producers. Most
of these logs are purchased from domestic logging operations.
Drying of Lumber
Our Genwove & Spencer facilities own and operate kilns located
at North East, Maryland, and Spencer,
West Virginia.

We
manufacture veneers in Longueuil, Québec, Indian Trail, North Carolina,
Rock Island, Illinois, Spencer, West Virginia and Hungary. All plants
utilize the same, state-of-the art technology. The North American-based
plants primarily manufacture woods found in their indigenous areas,
and therefore each individual facility represents a high level of
knowledge in the rendering of veneers from specific species of wood.
The Hungarian facility represents Eastern Europe's most advanced
veneer manufacturing facility. One of the first new Western industries
to enter the region, this facility forms a vital link to a key region
of the world which has only recently been re-opened to international
trade. Completely renovated by the GWV group in 1990, the operation
now provides the most up-to-date and diverse veneer products available
in Eastern Europe, as well as a vital link to all of the products
and services of the General Woods & Veneers Group world-wide.
