Situated in Toronto and California, the Architectural Division of the GWV Group reflects the organisation's recognition and dedication to the art and science of interior, spatial design.

Wood is an integral part of our daily lives. It enriches and enhances the spaces in which we live, work and play. More than any other resource, either natural or man-made, wood beautifies through its rich colours and never-ending variety of tones and grain patterns. It endows our living spaces with warmth and personality. Perhaps one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, Frank Lloyd Wright captured this meaning best in a lecture given to architecture students in California in 1947: "There is a primal, visceral intelligence within each of us that says we are more a part of the sand and stone and wood of our shelters and furnishings than the science which built them. Without these natural elements in our daily lives we become sterile and devoid of joy."

It is this philosophy which drives the work of our Architectural Division. The fusing of scientific knowledge with the art of the craftsman, the architect and the interior designer.

Today, the Architectural Division of GWV works with some of the world's premier architectural firms and woodwork manufacturers, in a partnership which reflects a deep sensitivity to the art of designing in wood.
